A steady bat; good on a fast wicket ; not a reliable field . W O O D, A. H. Adangerous batsman at times , and a fast scorer whenset ; avery fair wicket-keeper. W Y N Y A R D, E. G. (Charterhouse ). A fine free bat, playing in good style ; a splendid field at cover-point ; was not able to play at all last year for the county. L A C E Y, F. E. (Sherborne , Cambridge). Plays for Hants. Hasnot been successful with the bat this year, but whenin form is a free hitter with good defence ; as a bowler he has not his equal in the County. D O C K E R, F. C. Hasplayed but little this year ; a hard hitter and good change b o w l e r. D O C K E R, E. A very steady bat, but bad judge of a run ; can take the wicket w h e nrequired. E V E L Y N, F. L. The best bat this year in the County ; a hard hitter , especially to the off ; a fine field , and safe catch , and is a most energetic cricketer . E V E L Y N, E. C. A very steady , reliable bat, and generally makes runs ; a fine field at cover -point, and a useful change bowler . G R E E N-PRICE, A. E. Is a good bat, and always comes off in one innings of a match; a very active field , and a fair slow bowler. MASEFIELD, W. Auseful all round cricketer , but did not play muchthis season , andhis services with the bat andball were m u c hmissed. PULLING, W. D. A nenergetic but not always a successful cricketer ; can bowl a little when required , and has a limited knowledge of taking the wicket ; has been indefatigable as Secretary , but receives little or no support . SALE, W. T. Owingto an accident has played but little this season . W h e nset, a good bat ; and is a first class field anywhere. STANHOPE, . F. S. A fine free bat, but does not hit as hard as formerly . A splendid field , and keeps wicket well. STANHOPE, C. H. S. A hard hitting bat , and with practice will no doubt show moredefence ; listless in the field ; butwhenbehind the wickets can guard them successfully . H E R T F O R D S H I R E . ANDERSON, Rev. A. (Oxford). Agood bat ; and very quick in the field . BAKER, Capt . BERESFORD. Asteady bat, and good field . B U T L E R, H. L. (Eton and Cambridge). A fair slow round-hand bowler ; a steadybat.
