Collins : agood patient batsman ; plays good cricket , and always makes runs ; a fair field ; does not bowl. F. Duncan(ground bowler to the N.S.W. Cricketing Association ) : bowls fast over- a r mwith a good work from the leg ; plays good cricket , and is a fair field . A. Baxter : anexcellent bowler ; bowls fast over-arm, with a work from the off ; makesruns in a very careful way; a good field at point . T. Adamsonis , without doubt, the best wicket -keeper in the Colony ; takes the balls at either side with the greatest ease ; a safe bat, but too fond of the hit ; bowls lobs . W. Dobson : areliable batsman , with plenty of punishing powers , and plays a good uphill game, and the best short -slip in the junior clubs . J. Carroll : a good safe run- getter ; a good long field , and bowls over-armmediumpace. R. Vial : avigorous batsman, amost successful fast round-armbowler, and a sure catch . H. Evers : plays good cricket , but loses his head ; bowls breaks ; a very unsafe field . W. Dutton : plays in avery cramped style ,but always makesruns ; cannot bowl, and is abad field . J. Williamson : a sure run-getter ; hits in good style on the off ; bowls breaks , and is an indifferent field . J. Shearer : a slogger of the most pro- nounced type ; does not bowl ; a good field .
