Loveday (32) : the best bat in the Eleven ; moststeady and certain ; has played for the College a numberof years , andhas mademanyhigh scores this season ; effective left -handbowler. R. Ford (12.16 ) : sure bat ; hits very hard, especially on leg-side ; good change fast bowler. G. Dunbar (10.9 ) : a very steady bat ; has captained the Eleven for two years with success ; a mediumbowler . R. French (7) : an improving bat ; has great reach . F. W. Lea (6.1 ) : an improving bat ; plays forward prettily ; a sure catch . J. G. Thomas (6.1) : wonthe bat for best bowling average ; bowls fast with excel- lent pitch ; a promising bat ; makes runs when wanted. T. Aveling (4.5 ) : a very good field , but uncertain bat. T. D. George (4) a pretty bat, and excellent long-stop . A. Griffith (3.5 ) : played in very few matches ; hits freely . J. M. Bowen (3 ) : a disappointing bat ; fair change bowler . A. KING'S COLLEGESCHOOLELEVENIN 1882.-W. L. Johnstone (10.4 ): a very fast and good bowler , on his day almost unplayable ; has a splendid reach , andwould makea good bat if he would open his shoulders more; good field ; captain of the Eleven, and has fulfilled that arduous post to the satisfaction of all . J. B. Johnston (15) : a good bat, but hardly got into practice at the beginning of the season ; good field ; mediumpace bowler, with some break. C. P. Johnston (10.8 ) : good fast bowler, but should pitch the ball up more ; good batwhenset, cutting and hitting to leg well ; good field . H. W. Myatt (12.12 ): good bat but for his tendency to scoop after he has made a good hit ; moderate field . H.Maule (10.8) the best bat in the Eleven, but most unfortu ate throughout the season , drives very well ; good long -stop . T. E. Basteed (9.6): scored well at times, buthas a tendency to play forward at short pitched balls . H. C. Tress (6) : moderate bat, butkept up his wicket well at times ; very good field . C. T. Ducat (14.2 ) : very pretty bat, cutting and hitting to leg well ; lazy in the field . G. Abbotts (11.4): can hit well , but has no defence ; indifferent field . D. Seligman (3.0 ): poor bat, but improved towards the end of the season . T. E. Simonds (8.5 ): mostplucky bat, has on several occasions wonthe match for us ; good catch and field. Inter-Hospital Cricket Challenge Cup, 1882. The Inter -Hospital Cricket Challenge Cup was established and played for for the first time last season . Out of the eleven recognised medical schools in London, no less than ten entered the competition . In the first round King's beat St. George's , St. Bartholomew's beat Middlesex, Londonbeat Charing Cross , St. Thomas's beat University , Guy's beat St. Mary's . In the second round King's
