The improvement in the cricket, bothof the Elevenand School is in a great measuredueto him. H a s rather fallen off as a bat. A s a bowler, has been successful and most useful . F. A. Browning : a batsman of great hitting powers, but fell off considerably during the season both in batting and fielding . B. A. Newbury : a first -class wicket -keeper , has proved invaluable in that position all through the season . A very useful bat. * J. P. Du Cane certain bat, with very sure defence ; always to be depended on for runs . Goodfield . * W. R. Hawkins : a very fine bat, though somewhat careless at times , with great hitting powers. Brilliant field . Has proved most useful throughout the season . A good change bowler. A. E. J. Perkins : a most effective and hard-hitting batsman, with very good defence. Fast right hand bowler , with good delivery . Goodfield . A. W. Medley : has proved the back-bone of the Eleven with his slow left -hand bowling. Has shown a decided improvement both in batting and fielding . G. H. Spiller : a very steady and useful bat. Capital field . C. E. F. Bunbury : A verv stylish bat, with steady defence ; perhaps plays back to often . A very useful out-field . P. N. Salmond : a steady left hand bat. Hasshewn persever- ance and improvement during the season , always making runs when they are needed . Uncertain field , good at times . D. N. Pollock : moderate right -hand bowler.
