Hastings : a good hat, with excellent defence ; scored steadily during the season ; a brilliant field , but inclined to drop an easy catch ; filled his place as captain with success . *J. B. Jameson : a brilliant bat whenset, but plays with great uncertainty at first ; a useful change bowler ; has improved wonderfully in fielding . *R. W. L. Fernandes : would have been a really good bowler had he kept to one action and pace, bowled fast withgreat effect at the close of the season ; a hard hitting bat ; uncertain in the field . *T. W. E. Moreton : a neat and pretty bat , but did not quite come up to our expectations ; a good field as a rule . *H. Davis : has disappointed us as a bowler; can hit, but has little or no defence ; a magnificent field and sure catch . R. W. L. Fernandes : Played some plucky innings at the commencementof the season , but fell off sadly ; a moderate field . *A. J. Jameson : a steady and reliable bat, seldom failing to makeruns ; can bowl slows ; brilliant cover -point . *E. White : as a bowler , has done us much service , having an unusually high and puzzling delivery ; a poor bat ; very slow in the field . C. M. Johnstone : a good fast mediumbowler ; has improved in batting ; a fair field . A. M. Knight : has taken the wickets on the whole with great success , though he is inclined to get flurried ; a most painstaking bat ; played some really good innings at the end of the season . G .E.
