D'Oyly : Much improved as a bat, plays hard ; successful in the school matches ; promising wicket-keeper. *W. F. Jameson : scored well at the beginning of the season ; plays in nice style ; slow in the field . L. G. B. J. Ford : a fine free hitter , often loses his wicket through impatience ; a fair slow bowler, with great break ; uncertain field . * O. Grabham: a disappointing cricketer ,hits hard, sometimes bowls(fast round) with effect ; not up to his form of 1881. *С. А. Kempson : gives promise as a bat , as yet too nervous to get runs ; perhaps the best field in the school . *H. Buckley : a brilliant out-field with a safe pair of hands. *W. S. R.
