Studd (EtonandTrinity ) : a pretty bat, with plenty of dash and power ; a beautiful field and thrower, though sometimes a little uncertain , through nervousness . C. T. Studd (Eton and Trinity ) : one of the best all round players in England ; a most steady and reliable bat , playing in excellent style ; a useful slow bower , with high delivery andexcellent field . J. E. K. Studd (Eton and Trinity ) : a fine driving bat; rather too eager to execute his favourite hit ; very good out-field andthrower. H o n.M .B.Hawke(Magdalene) : proved of great use to the eleven ; bats in good style , and usually safe for runs ; might be smarter in the field . F. E. Lacey (Sherborne and Caius ) : agood all round player ; a free and powerful bat, and good field ; bowls slow round . C. W. Wright (Charterhouse and Trinity ) : steady bat ; plays thoroughly good cricket ; an excellent wicket -keeper , with plenty of pluck . R. C. Ramsay(Harrow and Trinity Hall ) : was very effective as a slow-round armbowler in earlier matches, particularly against theAustra- lians , but fell off later in season ; can hit hard. P. J. T. Henery (Harrowand Trinity ) : proved of service in the Inter -University match ; fair bat and bowler ; good field . P. J. de Paravicini (Eton and Trinity ) : hardly came up to his Etonform either in batting or bowling ; fine field . C. A. Smith (Charterhouse andSt. John's ) : fast -round armbowler , at times very effective . F. D.
