Committee , Hon. Alfred Lyttelton , A. R. Daly, C. Е. Green, W . H. Hadow, R. Henderson, G. Lee, C. T. Studd, G. B. Studd. T. S. Pearson , E. Rutter , T. Ratliff , C. M. Tebbut , M. Turner , V. E. Walker, A. J. Webbe, and Rev. A. R. Ward. MIDDLESEXcould hardly be said to have been altogether lucky during the season . Theeleven played two matches each with Nottingham, Lancashire , Gloucestershire , Surrey, and Yorkshire , and a single matchwith Kent. Of these eleven five were won, one drawn, and five lost . The one outside match with the Australians also ended unsatisfactorily , so that there were six defeats to five victories . Middlesex has never, perhaps , been stronger with the bat thanlast season with its best eleven in the field . Onseveral occasions , though, particularly in the later matches, whentheir chance seemed hopeful , the wickets were altogether against the bat, and they were hardly seen at their best. Messrs. Webbeand I. D. Walkermore than once madelong scores for the first wicket, and generally the batting figures are good. Mr. C. T. Studd, though hehad no long innings for the County , was very useful with ball as well as bat. Burton, too, has quite maintained his reputation with the ball . The want though of a fast bowler was much felt , and it was in this department that Middlesex showed the greatest weakness. R e s u l t sof M a t c h e s.
