T H E M A R Y L E B O N EC L U B IN 1881. 5 3 Excepting Paravicini and Lascelles , there were no bowlers of any preten- sions on the Eton side , and in this respect Harrowhad decidedly the advantage , though K e m p, the Captain, who showed such formlast year, was unsuccessful . There was more than one good change, and Shakerley Moncreiffe , and Greatorex were all fairly successful . TheEton fielding , which was loose in the first innings , improved considerably in the second , while that of Harrow, though on the whole very fair , fell off for a time at the commencementof Eton's second innings . Newtonkept wicket in very creditable style for Eton; but the Harrovians , who were for once the bigger team, wonon their merits , and their victory placed the two schools on an equality , each having won twenty -five of the fifty -seven matches played.
