L. , F. & Co. , in the Winter , can have Bats selected and kept specially for them, so as to be in first -class conditionfor theCricketSeason. R e m i t t a n c e s - J. L. , F. & Co. beg to inform the public that orders from persons unknown to them should invariably be accompanied by a remittance to the value of the goods ordered , or, if this is unknown, to the supposed value . Inattention to this particular will be almost certain to cause delay. Anysurplus remittances will be returned on demand, or passed to the credit of thepurchaser . Incases where accounts have been opened with Clubs , &c., it is necessary that the order should be signed by the Secretary or other responsible officer . P.O.O. should be madepayable at the Chief Office . Clubs desirous of opening accounts should write us, so that the necessary arrangements maybe made. Discountfor PromptCashP a y m e n t s - General orders to the amount of £1 and upwards, if accompanied by a remittance to the amount, are entitled to a discount of five per cent . A further discount will beallowed under similar circumstances on orders for Cricketing , LawnTennis , and Football Goods (with a few exceptions , as stated below) on the following scale , viz :-Orders to the value of £3 will be entitled to 7½ per cent .; those of £5 to 10 per cent ., and those of £10 and upwards to 15 per cent . N.B. This very liberal scale of discount can only be allowed w h e nthe above terms, " Cash with order," are complied with; other cases will be treated on their merits. The following goods are excepted from the above -mentioned extra discount , but will be subject to the ordinary rate of five per cent . for prompt cash , viz . :-All goods where quoted at a lower price for taking more than a single article , as , for instance , Cricket Balls at price per dozen , &c.; also Clothing of all kinds , Boots and Shoes , Tents , LawnMowingMachines and Rollers , Bicycles and Tricycles , &c. For the convenience of Clubs and Gentlemen who maypurchase goods at various times during the season , paying for each lot at the time of purchase , J. L. , F. & Co. have decided to allow the full discount on the aggregate , as if they had been purchased at one time. It will be necessary , however, for pur- chasers to keep their invoices and receipts , and produce them whenthey claim thediscount. N oclaims for discount, however, can be entertained after the end of the year in which such goods were purchased .
