(Eton and Oxford). Still one of the best all -round amateurs, though he does not play so much first -class cricket as formerly ; bats in brilliant style ; is a sure and smart field , and a successful " lob " b o w l e r. WYNYARD, E. G. (Charterhouse ). A fine free bat , playing in good style ; a splendid field at cover -point ; was not able to play muchlast year. W O O D, A. H. A dangerous batsman at times , and a fast scorer when set . MILDMAY, H. P. St. J. A good steady bat , and safe field . LIPSCOMBE, Capt . F. W. Agood bat , with great power of cutting ; mode- ratefield. H E R E F O R D S H I R E . ANDREWS, H. An energetic bat ; not generally a successful cricketer ; vigilant in the field , but occasionally fails to hold the ball . BROWN, C. E. A good medium-paced bowler , and bowls with his head ; a free hard hitting bat, but is inclined to begin to hit too soon. EVELYN, F. L. (Rugby). Nervous at first , but an excellent bat whenset , has played some good innings this season ; an excellent field at long- leg, andan energetic cricketer . EVELYN, E. C. (Malvern). Wasunable to play muchlast season ; has ex- cellent defence , and is a brilliant field at cover-point . DAVIES, W. Played some good innings last year ; has a good defence , which would develop by practice ; a good long-stop . G R E E N- PRICE, A. E. A good bat, with fine defence , and can hit hard ; a first -class field anywhere. H A T T O N, A. As usual , showedgood form at the beginning of the season , but fell off towards the end ; should get out of his cramped style of batting. HEADLEY, E. M. A free hard -hitting bat , especially to the off ; much im- proved as a field , fine thrower, and generally a safe catch. KEY, C. M. A. A most useful man in any eleven , and has much improved as a bat ; a good field and safe catch . MASEFIELD, W. A steady bat and useful change bowler ; has not been so successful as usualthis season witheither bat orball. PULLING, W. D. More useful to the club as a secretary than as a player ; a good field , and occasionally makes runs ; can take the wicket if re- quired. SALE, W. T. Played but little last year ; whenset , often makesruns ; an effective but rather showyfleld . STANHOPE, E. F. S. Afine bat, with gooddefence , makingall the use of his height ; a splendid field anywhere, and is sometimes brilliant behind t h ewickets.
