Kempson: muchimproved in batting , plays steadily and cuts hard; his fielding at leg and cover is as good as ever . H. T. Arnall : useful slow left -hand bowler ; fielding improved ; batting only moderate. Captain for 1882. *E. N. Fellowes : steady bat, but with cramped style ; takes the wicket. *R. E. Inglis : good field ; bats fairly , but is too anxious to hit . *H. S. Walker : promising all-round cricketer ; can generally be relied on for runs . *B. A. Cohen : an improving bat, rather weakon the leg side ; good field ; moderate bowler. *H. Martin: rather uncertain bat, hitting hard, but lacking defence ; bowls a little . IW. Maxwell: bats with too muchflourish ; fair slow bowler on his day. E. Bowden-Smith : moderate left -hand bowler ; good point ; awkward bat. * G.
