Moon (Captain ) : fine hitting bat, generally makes runs whenwanted; a good college wicket- keep, at times very smart ; proved an excellent Captain. A. H. Evans, C. F. H. Leslie , E. Peake, G. C. Harrison : see University Eleven. F. L. Evelyn : played seldom, but always made runs , and in good style ; a good field . G. G. Gutteres : a very good bat and field , though he did not always show his best form. C. Twist : perhaps the most useful bat in the eleven , always made runs ; quick and safe on the field . S. K. M. Stobart : a powerful bat, but too impatient to makemanyruns ; on his day a good slow bowler ; an excellent long -stop . B. Blaxland : uncertain bat, but when once set always good for runs, hits very clean ; somewhatslow in the field , but improving. E. D. Shan : very steady and goodbat ; good slow bowler ; an excellent field at point . E. F. Beaumont: a useful change bowler; sometimes successful with the bat. E. Gerrish : plays straight , but scores slowly ; has bowled and kept wicket on occasion . H. R.
