Williams (25.1 ) : a successful bats- m a n,hits hard, but is muchtoo eager to makeruns ; pretty safe field , though his return is apt to be slow and uncertain . O. Jones (14.3 ) : fast round-arm bowler , very straight , successful throughout the season ; good bat, but wanting in style ; did not make as many runs as he deserved ; very safe field . W. P. Oakley (10.8 ) : a very pretty bat, with good defence ; a little moreconfidence would get him more runs ; an energetic field , with good return . W. O. Nares (10.2 ) : very good change bowler (slow left ), and generally managesto take wickets ; not very reliable as a bat, though occa- sionally he makes good scores ; good field , but makes mistakes . G. E. Robinson : vide University Eleven . J. J. Huckwell (5-7) : fast left -hand bowler, with good break back ; very dangerous whenin form ; is not pains- taking enough as a bat ; an excellent long -stop, and good field anywhere. D. W. Davies (4.8 ) : a very sanguine if not always a successful cricketer ; as a bat, lacks confidence in his own powers; fairly certain in his fielding . D.M. Jenkins (4.7 ) : a useful and occasionally effective bowler (medium pace right ) ; should devote more attention to batting ; apt to be casual in the field . J. E. Evans (4) : a fairly good but nervous bat , with a little practice ought to prove useful next season ; wants more judgment in his fielding . J. Evans(3.7) : has a good defence , but should learn to play more freely . D.
