Andrew : a promising bat , but should take more pains both with his batting and with his fielding . E. S. Chapman : a hitting bat , frequently making runs ; an energetic field . J. Colman : played very successfully for the College , rarely failing to make runs ; also a capital bowler and good field . P.G. Exham as Captain of the eleven showed excellent judgment ; did not play up to his form during the early part of the year , though he regained it later on ; a good field at cover- point . F. D. Gaddum : avery good slow left -handed bowler , as his analysis proves ; a useful bat and good field . W. H. Garne : a good long -stop , for whichhe obtained his place in the eleven ; also maderuns at times. E. M. Hall : a hard hitting bat, but too often sacrifices his wicket for the sake of a " slog " ; a moderate field . J. H. Izon : a steady bat, change bowler, and hard working field . R. Spencer : vide University Eleven. F. L. Thompson: wasof great service to the eleven on several occasions , being a successful bat and good point . R. Thorman : a useful all -round man; has much improved in bowling ; a fair bat and field . P. T. Wrigley : kept wicket for theeleven with moderate success ; played some good innings during the t e r m.
