C. T. Studd (Eton and Trinity ) : one of the best all round players in England; a most steady and reliable bat, playing in excellent style ; a useful slow-bowler, with high delivery and excellent field . C. P. Wilson (Eton and Trinity ) : a very useful member of the eleven , being a safe bat , with excellent nerve for a critical point in a match, and a straight medium-pace bowler , with high action and some spin . T. E. K. Studd (Etonand Trinity ) : a fine driving bat, but muchtoo eager to execute his favourite hit when ground and bowling do not favour its success ; very good out -field and thrower . R. Spencer (Harrow and St. John's ) : a fair right hand bowler , with an easy action and some break -back , rather above mediumpace ; with better defence would be a fine bat , as he has a splendid wrist and great power of hitting .
