Grace's bowling settled them. alto- gether, and, with only 43 minutes to get 52 runs, W. G. and Gilbert won the match by10wickets , with plenty of time to spare . G. opened the game auspiciously with a score of 89 for his county, and Yorkshire had to face a long total of 302. The Northerners were in the unpleasant position of having to follow on with 107 to thebad, and it was only a rather unexpected stand by Pinder , whorattled up 57 runs in three -quarters of an hour that gave Gloucestershire any trouble . Yorkshire had to prevent their opponents making 84 runs in an hour and a half, but Mr. W. G. Grace shattered their hopes, andhe had got 57, not out , of the 84 runs , when the game ended , 15 minutes before the stipulated time. Gloucestershire wonby 6 wickets . Gloucestershire , 302 and 84 (4 wickets down) ; total , 386 ; Yorkshire , 195 and 190 ; total , 385. (9) Gloucestershirev. Lancashire. Clifton , August 26, 27, 1880. ১ Thefirst five wickets of Lancashire , who went in first , produced 148, the last five 38; and Mr. Taylor (66), Robinson (51), and Mr. Lancashire (25), contributed 142 out of 178 from the bat. A finely got 106 by Mr. W.G. Grace helped Gloucestershire to head their opponents by 63 ; and the very effective bowling of the colt Woof, nearly won that county the match withaninnings to spare .
