Derby, June 14, 15, 1880. Kent was anything but well represented , and the unfavourable weather did not improve its chance . The rain made the ground play very diffi- cult , and the highest of the three completed innings only amounted to 102 . L o r dHarris headedthe score for K e n twith 9 a n d29, but luck w a s certainly not on the side of that county, and the wicket playing more easily towards the close allowed Mr. R. P. Smith (33) and Foster (49 not out) to get runs fast , the latter winning the match for his side by six wickets . Derbyshire ,99 and 96 (four wickets down); total ,195. Kent, 102 and90; total , 192.
