L., F. & Co. , in the Winter, canhave Bats selected and kept specially for them, so as to be in first -class conditionfor the CricketSeason. R e m i t t a n c e s ) J. L., F. & Co. , beg to inform the public that orders from persons unknownto them should invariably be accompanied by a remittance to the value of the goods ordered , or, if this is unknown, to the supposed value . Inattention to this particular will be almost certain to cause delay. A n ysurplus remittances will be returned on demand, or passed to the credit of the purchaser. Incases where accounts havebeen opened with Clubs, &c., it is necessary that the order should be signed by the Secretary or other responsible officer . P.O.O. should be madepayable at the Chief Office . Clubs desirous of opening accounts should write us, so that the necessary arrangements maybe made. Discountfor P r o m p tCashP a y m e n t s - General orders to the amountof £1 and upwards, if accompanied by a remittance to the amount , are entitled to a discount of five per cent . A further discount will be allowed under similar circumstances on orders for Cricketing , Lawn Tennis , and Football goods (with a few exceptions , as stated below) on the follow- ing scale , viz :-Ordersto the value of £3 will be entitled to 7 per cent .; those of £5 to 10 per cent., and those of £10 and upwardsto15per cent . N.B. This very liberal scale of discount can only be allowed whenthe above terms , " Cash withorder," are compliedwith; other cases will be treated on their merits. Thefollowing goods are excepted from the above -mentioned extra discount , but will be subject to the ordinary rate of five per cent . for prompt cash , viz.:-All goods where quoted at a lower price for taking more than a single article , as, for instance , Cricket Balls at price per dozen , &c.; also Clothing of all kinds , Boots and Shoes, Tents , LawnMowing Machines andRollers , Bicycles and Tricycles . Goodsnot approved maybe exchanged if returned within a reasonable time a n dingoodcondition. For the convenience of Clubs and Gentlemen who may purchase goods at various times during the season , paying for each lot at the time of purchase , J L., F. & Co. , have decided to allow the full discount on the aggregate , as if they had been purchased at one time. It will be necessary , however , for pur- chasers to keep their invoices and receipts , and produce them whenthey claim the discount. N oclaims for discount, however, canbe entertained after the end of the year in which such goods were purchased . Coupons of the General Expenditure Assurance Co. given in lieu of discount , if desired , or a silver -mounted presentation Bat also in lieu of discount , for an order to the value of £10. 4 and 6, NEWINGTONCAUSEWAY, BOROUGH, LONDON, S.E.
