Goodright -handfast bowler, and fair left -handbat. G R A Y, A. A slow round-arm bowler, delivers from a great height , and at times gets considerable break on, hardly so successful as of old . G R A Y, E. Brilliant but uncertain bat; fine field . HAWKE, Hon. M. B. (Eton ). Good bat, generally getting double figures . LANDON, C. W. Fast bowler at times very effective ; can hit well , but wanting in defence . L A W, Rev. W. (Harrow and Oxford ). Fine bat, and one of the best fields in England, does not play muchnow. L A W, G. Goodbat, fielder , most certain catch. LEATHAM, G. A. B. (Uppingham). One of the very best amateur wicket- keepers in England ; kept ' better than ever in 1880 ; at times gets runs, but uncertain . RHODES, H. E. (Cambridge ). Good bat and field . RILEY, M. A fast bowler ; a good bat with plenty of hit . ROPER, E. (Clifton ). Good manall round ; free hitter ; fair change bowler and capital field . SIMS , H. M. (Cambridge University ). A fine cricketer , being a dangerous bat, a fast bowler, at times effective , anda goodfield . TEMPEST, J. (Stoneyhurst ). Very good slow left -hand bowler , at times very deadly ; got eight Harrow Wanderers for 15 runs at York. WOOD, J. R. Very reliable bat , and good long -stop . HIRST , E. T.
