Bowls slow -round with a high delivery , and is at times effective ; not to be excelled in the field ; played a very fine innings for Surrey v. Yorkshire at Sheffield , but was unable to help the county late in the season . TROLLOPE, W. S. (Westminster ). Played once for the county , and showed excellent batting form in both innings ; ought to be a useful addition to the eleven ; a change bowler (fast round). W Y L D, W. G. (Dulwich ). A steady bat with no lack of hit , and was occasionally very useful to the eleven ; a hard-working field ; can bowl as a change. S U S S E X . ELLIS , R. T. A most steady and patient hat , with very strong defence . Agoodcaptain andmost energetic field , scoring manyruns . GREENFIELD, REV. F. G. (Cambridge ). Gone off in batting from want of practice ; but bowls and fields as well as ever . GRUNDY, G. C. (Harrow). First -rate bat , left -hand : fields really well . KING, G. L. Goodbat ; fields fairly ; takes wicket well . LUCAS, M. P. (Harrow). A splendid bat, excellent field , and occasional bowler . His 66 against the Australians was a grand and faultless per- f o r m a n c e. LUCAS, C. J. Batted exceedingly well ; good field and occasional bowler . LUCAS, F. M. Showedwonderful promise with the bat ; fine field . MCCORMICK, J. Most promising bat ; fields well : occasional bowler. RAVEN, J. E. Muchimproved in batting ; bowls very fairly . SCLATER, A.
