(Rugby) : one of the best amateur cricketers ; an effective bat, hitting freely ; and scored well throughout the year ; again repre- sented the Gentlemenv. Players ; very fine out-field ; with a sure pair o fh a n d s. W A L K E R, I. D. (Harrow) : one of the very best all -round cricketers ; being a fine batsman, with a talent for hitting on the off -side ; and a truly irreproachable field , especially at mid-off ; a good captain and excel- lent judge of the game. W A L K E R, . D. (Harrowand Oxford) : has not figured so muchin prominent matches of late ; a very clever slow round-arm bowler; and a run- getting bat in his own style . W A L K E R, V. E. (Harrow) : the best judge of the gameextant ; as a captain has no equal ; and is still a brilliant field in any position ; and a most effectiveb a t s m a n. W E B B E, A. J.
