(Marlborough and Oxford). Bowls left -round (slow), and at times very successful ; did not play last year. M O B E R L Y, W. O. (Rugbyand Oxford). A first -class bat and brilliant field ; played good sound cricket throughout the season, andproved a great acquisition to his county. T O W N S E N D, F. A first -rate batsman, playing excellent cricket with good hitting power all round ; a good and safe field , and very useful as a 'lob' bowler. H A M P S H I R E . BENCRAFT, R. A good bat , hitting hard on the off -side ; is a safe catch ; bowls occasionally . BLUNDELL, F. J. A good slow bowler ; safe field , and moderatebat. Воотн, С. (Rugbyand Cambridge). A good bat, getting runs quickly ; and still a fine field at long -leg , though he did not play last year. D U N C A N, D. A good free -hitting bat ; fair wicket -keeper , and quick field . HARGREAVES, R. (Eton and Oxford ). A good bat; and fine field at cover-point. JEFFREYS, A. F. (Eton and Oxford ). A useful bat , with good hitting powers; a goodlong-stop. JELLICOE , F. G. G. (Haileybury and Oxford). Aslow left -handed bowler , and at times most effective ; a poor bat and field . KENDLE, Rev. W. J. (Sherborne ). Has been an excellent bat, and still a goodfield with quick return . LACEY, F. E. (Sherborne and Cambridge ). A fine and free bat , generally safe for a score ; a good field , and fair bowler . L O N G M A N, G. H. (Eton and Cambridge). A fine batsman, and safe field ; can also bowl ; has not played for his county for some time . PowYs, W. N. (Cambridge). A fast left -hand bowler, but has lost muchof his deadliness lately ; a hitting bat. RIDLEY, A. W. (Eton and Oxford). One of the very best all -round amateurs ; bats in brilliant style ; is a sure and smart field , and a successful lob ' bowler ; has not played for the county lately . W Y N Y A R D, E. G.
