The following were established as the laws of county qualification , at a meeting held in the Surrey County Pavilion , Kennington Oval , on June 9, 1 8 7 3. I. That no cricketer , whether amateur or professional , shall play for morethan one county during the sameseason . II . Every cricketer born in one county and residing in another , shall b e free to chooseat the c o m m e n c e m e n tof each seasonfor whichof those counties he will play , and shall , during that season , play for that county only. III . A cricketer shall be qualified to play for any county in which he is residing , and has resided for the previous two years ; or a cricketer m a y elect to play for the county in which his family home is, so long as it remains open to himas an occasional residence . IV. That , should any question arise as to the residential qualification the sameshould beleft to the decision of the Committee of the Marylebone C l u b. C H A P T E R V I I. The Chief Scores in 1880, HEREWITHwe give a table of innings of 100 runs or more played during the past season . The list has been carefully compiled from recorded matches, with the addition of numerousscores kindly furnished by secre- taries of clubs in response to our application . Lieut .
