H. P. Pedler : weakbat, but has shown somegood play; excellent long-stop. E. C. Phillips : cameoff once with the bat when runs were scarce ; improved latterly in the field , but shows nervousness . S. B. Smith : has the material for a good bat, steady with a fair defence, showing some good play during the season ; clever point . T. W. Stewart (Capt.) : is a goodbat, with gooddefence, and hits hard and freely ; is an excellent field anywhere, andis a very good slow bowler with break. H.S. Adams: batted well andin good style throughout the season ; is a safe field , with quick return . *J. D. Perkins : a painstaking andneat bat ; hits hard and cuts well , and is a good field at point . C. F. Murray: an effective bat, with good defence ; is a sharp field , and a useful bowler, at times very destructive . A. J. Webb: has greatly improved in his hitting powers during the last season , and always played in goodstyle ; is a good slow bowler ; and good, though rather casual , cover -point . F. L. Sanders : a fair bat , with good eye, and fast run -getter ; a good field anywhere , and straight and steady bowler . E. C. Caldecott : always batted well to the professional , but was unlucky in matches; a fair change bowler. * F. R. Manduit: an uncertain but im- proving bat ; is a straight and fast bowler, at times very destructive . A. W. Stewart : has improved in batting , and is a sharp and promising wicket-keeper. * F. Barton : has a good eye, and hits hard ; requires to take morepains in fielding . A. W. Moodie : would be a fair bat if he took morecare ; can field well if he likes .
