The front fork and steering head are made of two oval steel tubes , of first class quality , braced together in a very neat and durable manner, forming a splendid open head. Theframe, for lightness , strength andfinish is unsurpassed. The wheels are on the spider principle , with crescent steel felloes , clothed with best moulded rubber tyres , either red or grey, for front , for back wheels , which are firmly cementedinthe felloes . The hubbs are made with gunmetal flanges , fitted on hardened steel spindles , the spokes andnipples are of steel , very light andnumerous, being 72 for front and24 for back wheel, firmly secured with lock-nuts ; direct spoke wheels can be fitted if preferred . This Machineis fitted with Adjustable Ball Bearings , each bearing contains ten steel balls , hardened and perfectly round , running in parallel grooves , recessed partly in the axle andpartly in the box of the bearing ; by a simple arrangement the balls are kept in separate positions at equal distances , whereby the friction as in roller bearings is avoided. The back wheel is fitted with either parallel or Adjustable Cone Pins: patent Adjustable Ball Bearings can be fitted to back wheel at anextra cost of 20s. Thebrake is either of the spoon or roller kind, working on the front wheel, andapplied b ya lever on the right -side of the handlebar; the pedals are on the cone principle and adjustable ; the head, neck, cranks, handle-bar, spring , hubbs, spokes and brake are highly polished , and each machinefitted with the following requisites -best adjustable rubber pedals (or rat -trap if desired), spanner, oil -can, lubricator ,hornhandles and LamploughandBrown's patent saddle .
