Thompson: the prettiest bat in the team, but should put more life into his play; a good field and safe catch . * W. M. Tatham: rather shaky at first , but when set hits hard all round ; a brilliant cover -point , with a splendid return ; winner of average bat. E. E. Steel : bowls slows well with a good break both ways, ought to do great things with the ball next year ; as a bat has very pretty style , but wants morepower; winner of average ball . *A. W. Martyn: a medium-pace bowler, and has been fairly successful this season ; as a bat is rather too fond of hitting ; a neat field . * W. H. R. Curtler : bowled well at the beginning of the season , but fell off towards the end ; an unreliable bat and indifferent field . H. M. Leaf: has untiring patience , and plays with a very straight bat ; ought to make a good slow bowler if he practices pitch ; a good field anywhere. *E. Mahon: a fair bat,butwantspractice ; painstaking in the field , and has been knownto bowl. *L. C. R. Thring : a fast bowler, sometimes successful , but lacks pitch ; as a bat is decidedly weak. A. B.
