Hill : a hard -hitting bat , and quick run-getter ; a brilliant field , with wonderfully straight return ; captained the eleven with great judgment and success . A. W. Moon: the wicket -keeper of the eleven , always very quick , and at times brilliant , with more care might be among the first ; a very free , hard-hitter , with unorthodox style . E. Peake : fast bowler with high delivery , always straight and well pitched up, and very successful ; a fine hitter , but with rather weakdefence . G. G. Gutteres : a splendid cover-point ; a good stylish bat , with a fine cut . B. Blaxland : a free hitter with fair defence ; slow in the field . C. Twist : a pretty bat though wanting in strength ; a consistent scorer ; very pretty , safe field . A. H. Evans : vide University Eleven . G. C. Harrison : vide University Eleven . F. L. Evelyn : vide University Eleven. E. Waddington: hits very hard ; safe catch ; fine field . J. F. F. Williams : plays very straight , but wants power ; a good long-stop ; can bowl.
