Grainger (Capt .) : a good bat with strong hitting powers , though hardly seen to advantage this year ; fair field at point . Hon. Ivo Bligh , H. Whitfeld , G. B. Studd , C. T. Studd , C. P. Wilson : see University Eleven for 1880. L. Bury: made one gigantic score this year , and on several other occasions displayed his old hitting powers ; very safe field . F. C. C. Rowe : good wicket -keeper , and capital left -hand bat , with a beautiful cut . P. T. Henery : fair slow bowler ; good bat. F. M. Lucas : fine left -hand bat, with great power of punishing loose bowling ; mediumbowler . T. K. Tapling : plays straight , and often scores ; keeps wicket . F. L. Cox : good bat , with hard forward play ; safe field , especially brilliant at cover -point . F. W. Capron : brilliant bat; invariably scores ; rather lazy in the field . C.
