L. , F. & Co. beg to inform the public that orders from persons unknown to them should invariably be accompanied by a remittance to the value of the goods ordered , or, if this is unknown , to the supposed value . Inattention to this particular will be almost certain to cause delay . Anysurplus remittances will be returned on demand, or passed to the credit of the purchaser . In cases where accounts have been opened with Clubs , &c., it is necessary that the order should be signed by the Secretary or other responsible officer . P.O.O. should be made payable at the Chief Office . Clubs desirous of opening accounts should write us, so that the necessary arrangements maybe m a d e. Discountfor P r o m p tCashPayments.- General orders to the amount of 11. and upwards , accompanied by cash , are entitled to a discount of 5 per cent.boligar This season a further discount will be allowed on Cricketing goods (with a few exceptions stated in list ) for orders amounting to 51. and upwards , which will be entitled to 7 per cent .; and on those of 10l . and upwards 10 per cent . will be allowed . The goods excepted from the higher rates will be allowed to count in the general total for calculating the discount on the other goods ordered . The extra discount cannot be allowed where a reduction has already been madefor quantity . Forthe convenience of Clubs and Gentlemenwho maypurchase goods at various times during the season , and paying for them at the time of purchase , J. L. , F. & Co. have decided to allow the full discount , as if they had been purchased at one time . It will be necessary , however , for them to keep their invoices and receipts , and produce them when they claim the discount . No claims for discount , however, can be entertained after the end of the year in which such goods were purchased . Coupons of the General Expenditure Assurance Co. given in lieu ofdiscount if desired , or a silver -mounted presentation Bat for an order to the value of 10l.
