It resulted in a tie on both innings , each side scoring 29 in the first , and 42 in the second attempt . A third innings was played , and after Eddlesborough had been got out for 38, Billington scored 39 for 4 wickets ; thus winning by 6 wickets . In match U. S. E. E. v. Eighteen of Birmingham , on June 17 , 18, 19 , each side scored 68 in first innings . The Ranelagh and Harcourt clubs both scored 68 on June14. SavernakeForest v. Swindonboth scored 42 on June 21. Luxton bowled 7 overs (5 maidens ), for 2 runs and 7 wickets , In a match at Woodsome, September 21 , between Almondbury School and Huddersfield Colle- giate , Hallas and Sykes for former bowled throughout , and the analysis was, Hallas , 42 balls , 1 run , and 5 wickets ; Sykes , 45 balls , 0 runs , and 4 wickets , 87 balls being bowled for one run off the bat. In a match between Hull Town and Sheffield v. Shrewsbury , at Hull , on June 5, H. W. Hart bowled throughout first innings of latter , taking 6 wickets for no runs . In match between Gentlemen of Ireland and M.C.C. , all ten wickets of M.C.C. were bowled. W. Thomas's analysis for Battersea second eleven is well worthy of record .
