On June 14, a match was played between EbbwVale and Pontypool Road ; EbbwVale in their first innings were all got out for 6 (one run from the bat), and in second for 23 ; Pontypool Road scored 22 and 8 for two wickets , winning by eight wickets ; there was not a double figure in the match . On June 14, at Tredegar , the Tredegar Star Club made 10 in first innings against Working Men's Club . On July 5, at Bramall Lane , Sheffield , Penistone were all got out for 8 runs by Heeley Club . On September 13 , at Olney , the Wellingborough eleven against Olney scored 6 (4 from bat) and 22, and were beaten by innings and 26 runs . At Weeton, the Yorkshire Post ' eleven were all got out by Weeton for 2 runs , one from the bat . On August 4, at Pershore , the Home Club got Rev. G. Swinden's eleven out in first innings for 5, including one extra . On August 2, at Brixton , Melrose disposed of Equitable Club eleven for 4 runs . In Oxford Freshmen's match on May 23, eight of Mr. Thornton's side failed to score , P. C. Parr taking four wickets without a run . For Surrey v. Cambridge University at Oval , 5 wickets fell for 3 runs , all got by Jupp, the not -out . On May 24, at Putney, an eleven of Collins ' C. C. were got out by W. H. Smith and Sons C. C. for 2 runs , both got from the bat . At Woodsome, on September 21 , Almondbury School got rid of the Huddersfield Collegiate eleven for two runs , one from the bat and one bye. In a match at Barking, between Barking and Bow, latter were all out for nine runs . OnAugust 4, at Seaford , the local Club got rid of the Visitors (12) for one run, abye. At Regent's Park, on August 16, Alexandra gotArlington eleven out for 9 runs, one batsman5, and four byes. In match between Gainsborough and Grimsby at Grimsby, on July 16, Gainsborough scored 4, Barber , a substitute , getting three runs , the fourth a bye ; the whole eleven were out in 21 balls . In a match between Winsford and Devon County School , on June 11 , Winsford scored 16 and 17 , School 21 and 13 for one wicket. Tall scoring.-- On September 5 and 6, at Eastbourne , Devonshire Park Club scored 683 v. Chiswick . In House match at Clifton College School , House scored 549 against Watson's , whomade29 and 40. On August 14, Middlesex scored 476 against Gloucestershire at Clifton . On August 8 and 9, Royal School of Engineering made 456 v. Royal Engineers . On July 18 and 19 , Birkenhead Park v. West of Scotland 453. On August 5, Hastings v. Rye, 455. On May3, officers of Royal Engineers scored 442 against Eleven Non- commissioned Officers and Sappers ; and on July 23, Cheetham, 430 v. Sturry . O nSeptember 8 and 9, Mr. Langley's eleven obtained 419 v. Devonshire Park; and on August 11 and 12, three innings over 400 were scored -413 by M.C.C. and Ground v. Hampstead , 411 by Gloucestershire v. Somersetshire , and 404 by UppinghamRovers v. Northamptonshire . On September 10 , Hastings made 311 runs for five wickets v. Tunbridge Wells . Mr. H. W. Renny-Tailyour of the Royal Engineers made six innings of over a hundred runs in the course of the season , for an aggregate of 748 runs . On August 16, at Lord's , for Kilburn
