A very good medium-pace round-arm bowler , with considerable work; not a taking , but at times an effective , bat ; an excellent practice bowler. Still one of the most effective slow round-arm bowlers , very clever with the ball , and has great command over it ; a good bat too, when runs are wanted ; had a benefit in 1879 , spoiled considerably by bad weather . Address-Mitcham, Surrey. STREET , JAMES . Born at Cranleigh , March 6, 1840. A very straight and at times difficult bowler; will take a benefit in 1880 at Oval. GILBERT, WILLIAM. Born at Newick, Sussex , June 4, 1855. 5ft . 6in.; 10st . 8lbs . Has played for the county ; bats fairly ; fast bowler , right hand ; wants more energy in the field .
