Powell (7.1 ): a brilliant field at point ; a good free bat . A. Saunders (7) : bats with great steadiness , and always goes in first ; a good , rather slow bowler with ahigh delivery . A. E. Charles (6.1 ) : a very good bat, and fast bowler. А. Т. Frankish (4.9 ) : keeps wicket well , and bats with much power and freedom . T. H. Baxter (3.5 ) : an uncertain bat ; fair left -hand change bowler . F. S. Turner (3-1 ) : does not practise sufficiently to become a good bat. R. S. White (3) : a fair bat , but too fond of hitting ; bowls extremely well at times . F. Halley (2-5) : bats very prettily , but has not been fortunate this season ; very useful in the field . C. A. Miller (2.4 ) : fair bat and field . H. White (2.3) : one of the best bowlers in the club ; bats very nicely . A. Giles (2) : bats fairly well , and bowls fast round -arm. A. Copping (1.4 ) : a moderate bat and field . W. E. Miller (1.1 ) : not much of a bat , but will improve with more practice . E. Rahone (1.1 ) : does not play enough to do anything as a bat . J. This flourishing Northern club has had a most prosperous season , having met with but two defeats , one at the hands of Yorkshire Gentlemen , whoplayed a very strong team, the other the first match of the season v.
