Beck : un- certain bat ; bowled very effectively . G. H. Daniell : poor bat ; safe catch and field , but too slow in returning the ball . A. S. L. Duncan : steady bat , but too fond of a sharp run , as number of times ' run out ' (5) will testify ; bowls medium round , generally with success ; fine field . A. Dimock: gets runs in a style peculiar to himself ; bowls slow round for a change , but usually acted as wicket -keeper . R. B. C. Gilbert : came off once with the bat ; safe field , seen most to advantage at long-leg ; a most painstaking young cricketer .
