Y J M D 2 THE appearance of another issue suggests the necessity of a few words to the thousands of cricketers w h o mwe are proud to own as our readers . The success that has been achieved by the ANNUALduring the eight years of its existence is a fact which no amount of competition or rivalry can disprove . Last year over eight thousand copies were sold , and we were unable to supply hundreds of applicants within a very short time of publication . JAMES LILLY- WHITE'S CRICKETERS' ANNUALhas slowly but surely taken the first place amongrecords of the game. Whetherthe success has been deserved or not , it is not for us to say ; on their merits modest menare dumb. The position we have obtained in the past it will be our aim to secure in the future . For the voluntary and reliable aid rendered to us by hundreds of well -wishers , we can only express our earnest thanks to one and all . Officers of Clubs should , at the same time, reflect that by furnishing the details of their own Societies , they are furthering the common cause of Cricket . Any statistics that may be sent to us will be carefully weighed and duly honoured , and with the help of earnest well -wishers we shall endeavour to give faithfully and accurately ' the story of our (cricket ) lives from year to year .' A form will be found at the end of the ANNUALto be filled up and returned by Secretaries , and the more we are helped in this particular matter , the more valuable will the ANNUAL be as a work of reference.one3 W a r d e t e l l a n o d d i hd u l o T E O SD И І Т Л О с и з м а а т и З О О М АB A a a m u t 2 O O D W I M M I N G
