Pile : a fair bat, much improved towards the end of the season ; useful change bowler . M. H. Pea- cock : a fast scorer ; hits well when set , but rather uncertain ; can take the wicket . R. G. Carpenter : has an easy style , and made several most useful scores ; as a bowler has been unsuccessful this season ; a safe catch . J. C. F. Hare: a good field , and steady but uncertain bat. W. C.
