Spofiortli, “ the demoli bowler," did all the mischief, and his analysis was most extraordinary, showing "23 balls for four runs and six wickets, three of them taken with successive halls. Tlizit such a batting team as that of Morylebone should have beeii dismissed for 33 was voted singular. but their second innings wns even more sensational, as Flowers (ll) alone made double figures. and iii 55 minutes the eleven had all been in and out for a total of 19, the smallest score made in a. good match after that of M.C.C. and G. (16) v. Surrey, at Lord‘s in 1872. The match was over at 5.50, and was completed in a dny, witli an hour and ten minutes to spare. The Australians won by nine wickets, and this victory it may safely be stated assured the sueress of their trip.
