Maul , (captain), a good b a t ; drives and hits very well’; good slow round bowler ; excellent field anywhere, good catch ; has proved himself a good captain this year. by far the best all-round man in the eleven ; a first-rate round-arm bowler, with great break back ; loses his head at times, and bowls rashly; as a bat he combines hard hitting with fair defence, but is rather uncertain in this ; splendid catch and very fair field. *G. Belgrave, rather fallen off from last season, but is still at times a useful bat, hitting well on the off s ide ; a good field and safe catch ; has proved useful as a bowler. *J. E Norman , owing to neglect of practice was of little use this season, either as a bat or field, having miserably fallen off in both departments. II. Burges , a most useful m nicest bat in the eleven, with capital defence, and fair hitting powers ; % splendid field, and safe catch ; can wicket keep fairly, and bowls at times ;
