Stratfor good bowler, and excellent field ; a capital all rotind cricketer; captain for 18; 8. * I F . I n g l e , his batting is spoilt by his nervousness ; an excellent long- stop. * C . d o f l r / n t o n , did not play much this season; suffered from want oi' practice; a very fair bat and field ; moderate change bowler. J . a good bat. with strong defence and hitting powers, and capital style, but developed one or two rather serious faults towards the end of the season; slow in the field. *F. Hargreaves, a good bat; has sometimes played in excellent style to good bowling, with a strong defence and good hitting powers, and on his clay a difficult bowler. A . N a straigh pitch, but little break ; at present a weak bat, but should improve; fair field. *F. Cobbohl, a steady but stiff b a t ; excellent field, with a straight and quick return. * 7 ’. B. Jones, fair bat, but too stiff; moderate bowler, and good field.
