Tho list has been carefully compiled from recorded matches, with tho addition of numerous scores kindly furnished by secretaries of clubs in response to our applications. Mr. W. G. Grace’s 400, not-out, was the highest scoro of tho season, and it is almost superfluous to recall his two feats at Canterbury and Cheltenham, on both of which occasions he outdid the largest innings previously made in a first-class m atch : Grace, W.
