Thornton, quite the best all-rounc man in the eleven, Wasmore successful this year as a bat than as abowler. *7?. B. A. Prichard , a moderate bat, aud played some good innings during the season, but never quite came up to the expectations formed of him. A good field. A _ //. Eoojwr, improved considerably in his bowling since the previous year. Would bat much better with a little more practice (capt, 1877). J. A. Forty his style* of batting is too cramped at present; ought to practice bowling more than he does. A good field. *J/. J. Druitt as a bat did not excel; hi 3 style was quite peculiar to himself. Bowled very much better than ever before, and was a very useful man in the eleven, J. Eyre will make a good sound bat. A fair field, but must learn to pick up the ball moro neatly. *F. S. Bainesy a patient player, with a good defence, though somewhat lacking hitting powers. A tolerably good held. A. W . Moon im proved considerably in his wicket-keeping as the season advanced. With practice might become a good change bowler. His batting was a trifle too wild. *J r. H. B. Bird could field very well if he chose. Did not succeed as a bat last year. * W. IE Sheldon gave very good promise as a bat, hut seemed to lose confidence as the season progressd; could hit very hard, and had a fair defence. S. J. Wilson might become a useful bowler with constant practice. A tolerably good field, but has much to learn as a bat, PELSTEAD SCHOOL. Captain, E. E. Baker.
