Arnold, bats very freely, but was a little unlucky during the season ; howls very straight, and seldom fails to get wickets. V. Cope, plays in a pretty and effective style, and scored well during the season. F. W. Kingston , rho best bat of the eleven and a very good wicket-keeper. //. 3f. White, slo» in getting runs until he gets well set. E. Williams , was less nervous, and consequently much more successful than in the previous year. S. B. Smyth., showed to great advantage in the Clare match ; very steady; not quick in the field; bowled slow round-arm with great success. II. G . Jeaffrmon, (secretary for 1877), in consequence of an accident was unable to play often. 7'. If. Mason , bowls fast round-arm ; is quick in the field, and a good catch at mid-off. C. Jt. Spooner bats with more freedom than caution; fields at point. W. G. Deiyhton, can stick and hit to square-leg; slow in the field. ./. 11.
