Gloucestershire, the once defeated of 1874, hade fair to be at one time the mo t unsuccessful County in 1875. Four out matches were all lost in succession, and it was only the excellent form shown in the home meetings in August, that redeemed the reputation of the Eleven. Eight matches v.en played, of which three were won, one drawn, and four lost. Two of tin* defeat s were by only a narrow majority, and two were easy victories for the oppn-ition, while one of the matches won showed only a preponderance of 40 i um. Mr. W. G. Grace was not in the form of 1874, nor was his brother (V F., hut the Doctor was as vigorous and lively as ever. Together the
