u wonderful bowling, and, generally, the “ ground ” lent most valuable assist­ ance during the season. Captious critics may find flaws in the management of the Club, and in some respects, notably in its external affairs and in its relations to outside cricket, there is great room for amendment. The prosperity of the Club itself, however, dopends however much on its internal arrangement, and in its efforts to study the comfort of its members the executive has been singularly successful. The dignity of its position, too, ns the legislative body of the cricket world, has been scrupulously and irmly maintained, and as the welfare of the game to a great extent centres in the well-being of the Marylebone Club, every cricketer will wish it heartily a long life of utility.
