F eat « with the B all .— The following bowlers took all wickets in an innings during 1875—Mr. H. P. Steelman, in the Freshmen’s match (twelve a side) at Cambridge, for Mr. Blacker’s side, got the whole eleven wickets (ten clean bowhd) in the first innings. At Charterhouse, for Light v Dark, H. G. Jeaffreson, in the second innings of the Light Eleven, ten wickets ; and fur Beddington Park v lieigftte Hill, on June 19, at Beddington Park, J. Kenrick, ten wickets. A. McAllister, too, for the Royal High School, (Edinburgh) against the Clydesdale, got ten wickets, clean howling nine ; Wil kinson, for Hosforth Church Club against Meanwood Park, ten wickets, (clean howled). J. R. Trusswell, for FaruMield Club v Woodborough, ten wickets. Coxal], for the Midland Railway v Messrs. Booth Brothers, ten wickets; and Armitage, the “ lob” howler of the Yorkshire Eleven, for Holderness Wanderers v Scarborough, all ten wickets. F. Chance, the slow bowler of the Gilbert Club, in a match with the Crown at Clapham Common, on July 7, bow led nine wickets in five overs without a run. For Adelaide v Uomerton College, at Victoria Park, on May *22, J. Thompson secured six wickets in six overs, without any runs. The feat of taking five wickets with five successive balls was accomplished by R. Baker, of the Scarborough Club, against Eleven of Malton, and by Mr. Miller, playing for St. Paul’s College against Shooter's Hill. Another extraordinary piece of bowling was effected by the Rev. G. Woodhouse (lobs), on August 14, in a match at Willenhall, between the village club and Wolverhampton, in which the whole Willenhall eleven were put out for nine runs, their last six wicket falling in one over—three being bowled, one stumped and two men run out.
