210 S tbachan , G. (Cheltenham). One of, if not the most brilliant amateur fieldsman of the day ; bowls slow round with a high delivery and at times with effect; batted well for his county in 1875. L ucas , A. C. (Harrow). Bats in good style, with a straight bat, and plays hard. A good field. T illarp , 0. (Repton and Cambridge). A useful man, being a straight fast bowler, and free hitter. H eap , W. W. Proved a great acquisition to the County ; a young and very promising player, a patient bat, with hit when wanted, and a safe field. M oney , Rev. W. B. (Harrow and Cambridge). Still keeps up his cricket, and is useful in every department of the game. L ucas , A. P. (Cambridge), and W. H. Game, (Oxford), play for Surrey. SUSSEX. C otterlll , J. M. (Brighton). Plays splendid cricket, has the very best defence, and can severely punish the loose balls ; a good field; got the highest score in county matches of 1875. K ennedy , C. M. (Cambridge University); takes wickets fairly, but is in too great a hurry to get runs, and very apt to get l-b-wT; a very good field, but not always a sure catch. R aven , J. E. (Lancing). A fast right-handed bowler, but not very straight ^ an indifferent bat. S mith , A. (Brighton College). A left-handed round-arm bow ler, very straight and with considerable break ; a right-handed batsman. P ickering , F. P. U. (Eton and Oxford). A fine hitter, and very safe field -r bowls fast underhand. W inslow , L. A very dangerous bat hitting freely all-round, a good fieldr andean bowl slow' round-arm. G reenfield , F. J. (Cambridge). Also plays for Sussex. WARWICKSHIRE. S mith , C. A most dangerous batsman against any bowling; a fine field anywhere, and at times an effective slowr-round bowler. M ilne , R. 0. A very steady bat, nearly always gets runs for Warwick­ shire ; safe catch and can bowl. W alker , T. R. An excellent fast-round bowler, very good field near the wicket, and difficult man to bowl out. F e t h e r s t o n , B. T. Can still drive very hard and hold a long catch. A lston , W. C. A very free hitter and good long-stop. H ull , R. A. A very useful bat and good change bowler. W illougupy pe B roke , Lord. A free hitter and can field well at cover. M ordaunt , O. Bowls slows as well as ever, dangerous bat, and first-rate point. B uchanan , B; Did everything which was wanted in the Bowling Depart­ ment. Not chosen to play for the Gentlemen this year, but was none the less the best amateur bowler of the day.
