Oliver, Captain, a left -handed bats man, hits well and hard to all parts of the field, very dangerous when set, a fine field ; bowls a good ball occasionally, but is far too careless to succeed in this department. *F. E. Allsopp , a very fine batsman, with a free and effective style ; fully came up to what was expected of him from the form he showed last year : plays fast bowling extremely well : the best field in the Eleven : a good slow bowler (round arm) : can also bowl fast round : de cidedly the best all round man in the eleven. *R. H . Fou ler , a very steady, sound, and good b a t : could be depended on for runs : was most useful to the Eleven, always going in first: an excellent field at point. G. C. Pakenham did not come off as a slow bowler this season : a free hitter, but has no de fence ; wants confidence. T . M oore played a useful innings occassionally ; hit well on the off side, but is still weak on the leg stump. A fast round- arm change bowler, also bowls fast under. R. M. Thomas a steady bat, rather stiff, wants more freedom ; a hard working field: bowls slow. A. M. Hayes a fine field at long leg : an indifferent bat. J. E. Morris , a painstaking and hard-working cricketer : bats in a style of his own : improved somewhat during the season : kept wicket for the Eleven. E . Pruitt, a straight medium pace bowler : fell off very much during the latter part of the season: a fair bat : lacks energy. W. Rushbrooke , a good bat, with a pretty and free style : a good field and useful change bowler (medium round ): should pay more attention to running between the wickets. C. E. Milvain , a left-handed batsman, too eager to s co re : throws in well from long leg, but should be more careful in p icking up the ba ll: a bad judge of a run. *A. R. Cadell bats in good form— a good longstop and safe catch.
