Wells, good bat with very strong defence, should learn to hit a half-volley always scored on a good wicket, safe catch. H. R. Fuller, useful bat,’ generally getting runs, very straight medium-pace bowler. A. S. For steady bat with a good cut, very fine field at long-leg and safe catch. A. O, Sieveking bats in good form when inclined, fond of a nap in the field. A lr. Brovnlow played seldom, owing to duties on the river, good bat and safe xi , ,, David ,steady bat but should hit more, good cover-point, pic ki the ball up clean with a sharp return. F. R. Archdale did not come up t< the expectations foimed of him, was occasionally useful both with bat am ball. A. 11 Turner ,very unlucky bat, hits very hard, and is a good f and useful bowler. C. C. Ellis, good slow bowler, fell off at the end of tin season, hits well to leg. T. E. Raven, (Hon. Sec.) a spirited bat and a times an effectual bowler, slow-round, good in the field.
