On the other hand seven of the Yorlishiremen got into double figures, and their total of 21S against such bowling as that of McIntyre, Watson and Mr. Appleby, can only be described as a highly creditable aHair. Clayton was chief sub scriber with 44, Lockwood next with 43, and Ulyett 33, Bowbothara 28, Armitage 24, Greenwood 10, and Finder, not out 12, the other doubles! Leicestershire failed signally in the return match although it was fairly re presented even to the importation of Bylott. Lancashire opened proceed ings with a good score of 1G8, Barlow of these making as many as 6G, not out. Leicester made a poor display against the bowling of McIntyre and Mr. Patterson (Cambridge University), and the result was only 38 runs, of which Panter, the only double figure, made 11. Panter too was the hero of the second venture, with an excellent score of 44 not out, but there was no one to aid him, and the total stayed at 104. Lancashire won by an innings and 2G runs.
